It was the summer of 2017 and Kim had just graduated from Virginia Tech and started grad school. She was home for approximately five minutes when her dad told her to get a job, so she decided to check out Ninety Acres in Gladstone. Kim’s twin sister Jen recommended reaching out to Ross since she knew he had worked there for a few summers. So off Kim went to apply there and low and behold, standing right behind the bar, was Ross! Her knight in a shining green apron. One day they both got cut from their shift, so Kim asked Ross (yes, you read that right) if he wanted to go to the mall with her to look for an outfit for the Hunt. They went shopping, even though Kim secretly already knew what she was going to wear, and then went to dinner for Ross’s first sushi experience (Kim was shooketh). To think that Kim and Ross had many of the same friends in high school and so many opportunities to meet, but never did. Right place at the right time, as they say. Or as Kim says, they were just saving the best for last.
Fast forward six years, they went back to where it all began when Ross signed them up for a cooking class at Ninety Acres. They got absolutely stuffed from pierogies and stuffed cabbage during the class, basically rolling out the door, that Kim thought there was no way Ross was going to propose that day. As they made their way to the exit, Kim saw a photographer waiting for them outside, and she knew. Ross dropped down on one knee, said some things, and she said YES!! As if that wasn’t perfect enough, Ross had one more surprise up his sleeve and organized a surprise engagement party for them at their favorite local bar in Jersey City, just steps away from their beloved Paulus Hook apartment. It was cozy, intimate, and absolutely perfect. They both cannot imagine anyone better to spend the rest of their lives with, and can’t wait to celebrate with everyone. See you at the Coapacabana!
